The College

JSS College of Pharmacy was established in 1980 with the object of imparting quality pharmacy education in India. Initially only Diploma course was started and subsequently graduate, postgraduate courses and doctoral courses were added. The mission statement of the institution was redefined in the year 1990 and it was decided that the institution would strive hard to have a fully equipped Postgraduate studies and Research centre. Today the college is one of the largest postgraduate and research institutions in the country, imparting quality pharmaceutical education at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The college has been successful in maintaining high level of research activity recognized at the national and international levels.

 

Accreditations and Approvals

The College is:

  • Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.
  • Approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi.
  • Approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
  • Accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi
  • Recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Library

The Library supports the teaching and research mission of the College of Pharmacy and has got more than 9500 books & 2000 Bound Journals, 80 national and 15 international journals.

A well equipped and up-to-date Computer Centre with 25 Computer Systems and VSAT facility is available.

Location

The college is housed in a peaceful campus over looking the green hillock ‘Rocklands’, Elk Hill Road. The college is 1 km away from Railway Station and Central Bus Stand.

Hostel

Separate hostels for boys and girls are housed within the carriers with it obligations of conduct, both inside and outside the classroom. Students entering the profession of pharmacy are expected to have the highest standards of personal integrity and conduct themselves in a manner that is credit to themselves, the College, and the professional.
