1.      3 students were awarded the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Welfare Trust Scholarships.

2.      Mr M N Satishkumar has become an EC Member, Community Pharmacy Division, IPA, Mumbai.

3.      Mr M N Satishkumar has been nominated as a member of PG Board of Studies, JSS University, Mysore.

4.      Mr M N Satishkumar has been elected as the President of IPA, Nilgiris Branch.

 1.       I.C.M.R.  grant of Rs.1.7 lacs for "Studies on in situ gelling system for better ocular drug therapy" Mr Saurabh Gupta under Dr M K Samanta

2.       National doctoral Scholarship (NDF) from AICTE-01: Mr Kalpesh Patel, under Dr M K Samanta - Studies on Nanotechnology Mediated Drug Delivery System for the management of Alzheimer Disease.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

 1.      Three M.Pharm students (Santhoshkumar, V Muralidharan and P Saravanan)  have  qualified in the GATE Exams held during February 2009.

2.      1 student was awarded Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Welfare Trust Scholarship.

3.      Two patents have been filed by (a) Dr M J N Chandrasekar - Process for isolation of bergenin from Caesalpinia digyna Rattler and (b) B R Prashantha Kumar for Thiazolidine derivatives and process thereof.

 1.      Mrs Nilani Packianathan, Department of Pharmcognosy had filed a patent.

2.      Two M.Pharm students Ms Priya Abraham and Rahul Borale were awarded project scholarship by the Tamilnadu Pharmaceutical Sciences Welfare Trust, Chennai
