Industrial and Technological Achievements

a. Hindustan Photo Films, Ootacamund

  • Developed expertise for manufacturing several specialty chemicals for in-house consumption as well as for export. Developed an indigenous formulation for subbing polyester base for photographic applications.
  • Developed and commercialized new products like Medical Imaging Film, Dental X-ray film, Half Speed Medical X-ray, Cine Radiographic Film, Direct Recording Paper, Medical X-ray film suitable for 90 sec. Processing cycle. Aerial film for IAF, Personnel Monitoring Film, Photo Type Setting Paper, etc.

b. TIFAC Centre of Relevance and Excellence in Herbal Drugs, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ootacamund

  • Developed herbal formulation ‘Hapenz’ for appetite stimulant for children and NSF-3, a natural sleep formulation. The safety and efficacy studies have been carried out. The products have been commercialized by M/s. Tablets (India) Ltd., Chennai.
