College Day
J.S.S. College of Pharmacy, Ooty, celebrated its College Day on 31.10.2009. Dr. K. Elango, Principal i/c gave the welcome address. Dr. B. Suresh, Vice Chancellor, J.S.S. University, Mysore, presided over the function and released the 19th Volume of College Magazine, "PHARMASAGA". Dr. Mruthyunjaya P.Kulenur, Registrar, J.S.S. University, Mysore, was the Chief Guest of the function. and Dr. Basavanna Gowdappa, Principal, J.S.S. Medical College, Mysore, was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. B. Suresh talked elaborately about the profession of Pharmacy. He said lot of foreign Universities, like University of Illinois, Long Ireland University, etc. have come forward to sign Memorandum of Understanding with J.S.S. University in exchange of students and collaborating in various fields of research in Pharmacy. He was of the view that the students should cultivate leadership qualities. Dr. Basavanna Gowdappa talked about impact of diabetes in Indian population. Dr. Kulenur talked about the various activities taking place in J.S.S. University. Prof. K. Chinnaswamy, President, Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council addressed the gathering. During this function, various meritorious medals and sports activity trophies were distributed to the students. Dr. S. P. Dhanapal, Head, Department of Phytopharmacy & Phytromedicine read the Annual Report of the College and Mr. K. Shankar, Physical Director, read the Sports Report. Dr. S.Sankar, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry gave the Vote of Thanks.
